Play4inaRow ("we", "us", "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use and safeguard your personal data when you use our platform at play4inarow.com.

1. Data We Collect

Account information — email address, username, profile picture.
Usage data — pages visited, game history, booking activity.
Communication data — in-game chat messages.
Technical and security data — IP address, browser type, device information, cookies, access logs, and abuse-prevention events.
Webcam & microphone streams — transmitted peer-to-peer during live games and automatically recorded (video, audio, and game moves). Recordings are stored on our servers for up to 28 days for security, dispute resolution, and legal purposes; they are available to both participants for download for 7 days after the match.

2. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the Play4inaRow platform.
To process bookings and payments.
To communicate with you about your account and bookings.
To detect and prevent fraud or abuse.
To protect the platform, investigate misuse, enforce our terms, and restrict access from accounts, devices, or networks linked to abuse or security risks.

3. Legal Basis (UK GDPR)

We process your data on the following bases: performance of a contract (providing our service), legitimate interests (improving the platform, fraud prevention), and consent (marketing communications, cookies).

4. Data Sharing

We do not sell your personal data. We may share data with payment processors, hosting providers, and law enforcement where legally required.

5. Google API Services

Play4inaRow's use of information received from Google APIs will adhere to the Google API Services User Data Policy, including the Limited Use requirements.

When you sign in with Google, we receive your Google account email address and basic profile information (such as your name) solely to create and authenticate your Play4inaRow account. We do not use Google API data for advertising, and we do not share it with third parties other than as needed to operate the service.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data for as long as your account is active. Normal security logs, including IP address logs, are typically kept for 30–90 days. Records linked to confirmed abuse, bans, disputes, fraud prevention, payment issues, or legal claims may be kept for 6–12 months or longer where reasonably necessary. You can delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account, or by emailing us, subject to legal, security, and dispute-resolution requirements (see "Account Deletion" below).

7. Your Rights

Under UK GDPR and CCPA (California), you have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your data. You can delete your account yourself from Account → Delete account. For other requests, email support@play4inarow.com.

8. Children

Play4inaRow is strictly for adults aged 18 and over. We do not knowingly collect data from anyone under 18. If we discover an account belongs to a person under 18, we will terminate the account and delete associated data in accordance with applicable law.

9. Account Deletion

You can permanently delete your account at any time from Account → Delete account. When you do:

Your sign-in credentials and authentication record are deleted.
Your public profile (username, avatar, bio) is removed and the account is anonymised.
Past game records, ratings, payment ledger entries, and dispute history are retained in anonymised form so the other party's records and our legal, tax, and anti-fraud obligations remain intact.
Deletion is blocked if you have active bookings, open disputes, or a positive wallet balance — resolve these first.
Game recordings older than 28 days are already removed automatically; recent recordings are removed in line with the standard 28-day retention window.
